Welcome to STREMA-DB: Strength of Materials Database

The relational "Strength of Materials Database" (with the acronym STREMA-DB) is a tool to:

  • Implement structural engineering materials (artificial and natural) data management for collecting, analyzing, and managing all of materials data in a single, searchable, resource.
  • Save time in materials engineering, avoid lost data, use already captured materials knowledge.
  • Control valuable data, guarantee security, and ensure that information can be traced to original sources.
  • Deliver materials data and most importantly their identified strength parameters to the people that need it (i.e. risk modelers, vulnerability of exposed element to natural or technological hazards modelers, designers of engineering structures etc), on their desktop.
  • Select structural engineering materials suitable for a given application based on given design specifications.
  • Calibration of yield or failure criterion for a range of brittle and ductile materials for subsequent use for static (monotonic or cyclic) and dynamic failure or damage or fracture mechanics analysis with appropriate numerical tools.

STREMA-DB is part of the Desision Support System Portal of the DESURBS Project.

Demo

A demo of the Strema-DB web application is available here. Also, a demo of the FC-MODEL, the Matlab application for failure criteria calibration, is available here.
